Multicoat is a high opacity semi-gloss primer and topcoat, providing excellent durability with good resistance to water and oil. MULTICOAT - THE ALL IN ONE COATING

If you find painting a bit of a performance here’s a product that will get the job done quickly and very effectively. It is called MultiCoat and it is maintenance made easy because this is a primer and topcoat all in one. This one product system is perfect for when you want a durable satin finish with a minimum of fuss. MultiCoat is ideal for anything from boats to beach huts, or camper vans to caravans.

On boats it can be used on all areas above the waterline, including decks, bilges and lockers. It is suitable for all sorts of leisure craft and is particularly popular with small fishing boats and utility vessels where owners want a good finish but don’t want to spend an impractical amount of time on preparation.

“Being a satin finish it is very forgiving on uneven surfaces where people don’t want to do a lot of sanding down and filling to get things perfectly smooth,” explained Martin Ingram of Blakes Paints Technical Services. “If you use gloss paint it can highlight all the defects and often people don’t realise the advantages of a satin finish.”

Another reason for its popularity as a general purpose paint is that MultiCoat is available in many different colours. “You can mix colours one-to-one very easily if you want a different shade,” added Martin. It can be used as a complete coating system on new or bare wood, and is also suitable for GRP, metal and even aluminium. With the correct preparation it can be applied directly to most surfaces.

With MultiCoat it is also very straight forward when you want to touch up areas, which makes it easier to maintain a surface subject to a lot of wear and tear. And of course you’re only paying for one tin of paint to do the whole job. It is available in 750 ml tins at £13.95 or 2.5 litre tins at £37.75.

Because carriers hate delivering paint and have become both difficult and expensive we can only deliver paint within Edinburgh City boundary on our own vehicles.
